My gf has just dyed her hair a darker shade of blonde only it's gone grey! any ideas on how to

My girlfriend has dyed her hair from blonde to a darker shade, the only problem is that it's gone a disgusting shade of grey-ish green! We tried dyeing it again using a different brand but it didn't do a thing!

All she wanted was it for to be more "honey" coloured, but now all I'm getting is ear ache!

Are there any ways we can get it back to it's original colour, or to the colour she wants it without dyeing it again? that just doesn't seem to be working!

Thanks!

It went 'gray' because she used an ash tone on her hair. To get a honey color, she'd have had to have used either a neutral or a warm blonde tone. She can try to strip that color out - buy one of the drugstore at-home hair color strippers (I think L'oreal has one). If she doesn't want to do that (those products can be very very harsh on your hair), she can try to dye over it with a warm reddish blonde color to neutralize the gray/green in her hair now. She will probably not wind up with the exact color she wants, but it will look better.

Edit : Forgot to mention, don't try to dye it a lighter blonde color over what she has now. Hair color in a box cannot "lift" (lighten) your hair color, only bleach can lift hair color to a lighter shade. And please don't use Feria - it has metallic dye in it that can make your hair harder to color over later. Good luck !

I'm afraid you're going to have to dye it again.

Or go to a salon and see what they can do for it.
