I recently bought a purple shampoo to tone down the yellow in my very blonde hair, as the most recent hair dye went way too yellow. My hair has a lot of very blonde strands and is all the way down to my butt. I'm naturally blonde but I do tend to lighten and color for fun, the problem is because my hair is so long, so light and also so porous it has picked up the purple color from the purple shampoo and now my hair looks silver/grey/blue where my hair was the lightest. What can I do ASAP that will safely get rid of this yuckie silver hair? Help!?!

The violent tint from the shampoo will rinse out, that happens when you leave it on too long. You may be using it too often, try switching on and off with a different shampoo that doesn't have any color to it.
It should definitely come out within one or two washes, though.

Go to a Salon and ask for a Chemical Remover Treatment...Its called a Malibu....they will know what your asking for. It might help more then anything you can do. They will treat your hair and put you under the dryer for 30 minutes or so then treat your hair with protein afterwards. Borics does this for about 7.00 to 15.00. When you have played around with your hair using colors and lightening it you have messed with the outer layer of the hair so when you use this purple wash in...it gets inside and acts almost as perm. color. A salon can help you immediately with this problem.

You can dye it in natural honey-ee colour (a bit darker than yours) so you get rid of the purple and let it get blonder with time....

Go to a good salon. You want someone who knows what they're doing and it may cost you a bit. Since your hair is so long and you've done so much to it, you may want to get at least 2 to 3 inches cut off as the ends are probably damaged. Please don't try to do this yourself and please go to a salon that specializes in color and color correction. Good luck!

Lemon juice. shampoo your hair then apply lemon juice comb through. Sit out in the sun fpr a few hours. That might help lighten your hair. By the way I am envios that your hair is so long. But I know sunlight does help. Also avoid chlorine like in pools or spas that will make it green since you are blonde. Purple with green you might end up a burnette. Anyways trylemon juice it is the most natural way I know. Good luck.
