How can I fix my hair colour (purple rinse)?

I have home bleached hair which I have been doing myself for years. My hair is very long, about half way down my back. I have just rebleached the roots, and when I went to rinse it off, realised that I had forgotten to add the colour boost liquid that gives the shade it's ash tones. Being a thicko, I decided to plop it on top of my well cooked roots and leave it for 5 minutes before I rinsed the bleach out. This has made my hair go a purpley grey colour. Doh. Please help! Is there anything I can do to fix this? Also, I have been wanting to go back to my natural mousey brown colour for a while, I realise this will probably be a salon job, but is it possible to achieve a natural shade of brown with my length of hair? and is this the time to bite the bullet to get the purple fixed as well? I do not have a great deal of money, any help would be appreciated.

if you bleach your hair, its essencially as if you are stripping it so setting a s basis, so going back to brown shouldnt be an issue, just double up... use a good brand loreal perhaps and buy two for the length of your hair.

Then i would suggest getting a excellent top of the line conditioner... such as KPAK ...

good luck hope this helps :)

Just want to say be careful...my sister did something like this years ago and each time she tryed to recolor, her hair got worse (color) and then after a while, started getting sores on her scalp! She ended up at a beauty school (they charge less $ and the instructors are well knowledged). I think she went weekly for treatments and after about 6 weeks, it was back to a more healthy condition. Good Luck!

I'd try the shampoo/baking powder solution just suggested.

There should be no problem dying your hair back to it's natural colour. Use a good dye (鎷? a pack, you'll need two or three depending on how thick your long hair is). It will wash out from the bleached areas over time though, so you will need to dye it every six weeks or so.

Its probly the ash tones thats made it gray.

Its happernd to me and iv been waiting 2 weeks and giving it another week before i go a dark blonde.

So if you want yours brown go for a light brown.

Hope this helps x
