I have asked this once before, but I'll ask again. i want to go to a hair salon and take out al

dye frpm hair and go grey. I do not want to lose the length. What is the best process to have this done. I do not want to go through the long pain of growing it out all over again. I am mainly grey and white.

I have asked this once before, but I'll ask again. i want to go to a hair salon and take out all of the black

black is very difficult to remove. if you only applied it once, then it will take a few hours for this process. it will need to be bleached out either all at once or with heavy hilights. very heavy hilights with bleach in foils to a pale yellow stage. if the bleach has been applied and overlapped more than once, it will be very difficult to maintain the integrity of the hair. so you may end up with a haircut. i'm a colorist who has been doing only color for 21 yrs. this is known as corrective color. DO NOT attempt to do this yourself. make sure you make an appt. if you walk into a salon and just get anyone, you will be getting a beginner. hope this helps. tell me a city and possibly i can tell you a colorist to go to.

Just tell your hairdresser! And let her dye it.

As A Cosmetologist the only healthy way is to let it grow out but you can lighten the color so that its a little more suddle as it is growing out just make sure that you trim your hair every 4-6 wks put conditioner treatments on it

growing it out or bleaching it are you only options. if you bleach it you have a HIGH chance of breakage. the problem with grey hair is it has no pigment. but you have color on your hair. bleaching will make your hair be another color.. example. if you bleach it to a med. brown color, then you'll have med.. brown hair and still have to grow it out to get your natural color. then your hair will be very dry/brittle.. sorry but looks like you'll have to grow it out.

There are ways of stripping the color from your hair because it is impossible to actually color your hair gray.. so you will have to meet with a stylist and see if she thinks a stripper would work good on your hair because it depends strongly on the condition of your hair. I am a stylist.. and Rusk Elimin8 is one of the best strippers for haircolor, but Black is hard to break through, especially if you have colored over it MANY times.

let your hair dresser frost or streak your hair a pretty shade that will look good until it grows off . i am doing that right now.

Find a stylist that is a specialist in corrective hair color, this will not be inexpensive but is worth every penny if you do not want to start over. They will need to do a color rebalancing/ removal and this is to only be done by an expert. Start conditioning your hair now and set up a consultation. This is the best way to start to test the strength and condition of your hair. The stylist should do thorough strand testing and answer any questions that you may have at this time, including a price quote. Then go home, sleep on it, and if you feel comfortable, call and set up your appointment. If not, set up another consultation. Allow plenty of time for this process though, it is not a quick fix when black is involved on grey hair but it is completely possible with the right technician! Lots of luck!

I have done just that for a client. This is what I had to do...

First Bleach the hair out to a pale pale yellow as much as you can do then add sea salt to water put on hair (this makes color stick to your hair) then protein it and moisturize....then dry it under the dryer. Make the color up I used a touch of 3N level color with a level 10N %26amp; applied to hair. I made my OWN grey color for the client. Only suggest a professional do this!
